Expert Tips and Tricks

When leveraging Agile methodologies for your embedded product development, use the following format to write your user stories:

As a <what?>, I want to <do what?> so that <some value is provided>

Acceptance criteria:
<My story is complete if I meet what criteria?>

For example, I may have a user story like the following:

As a <user>, I want to <have the heater time-out>, so that <if I leave the heater on, I don’t start a fire>

Acceptance criteria:
<After 20-minutes of inactivity, the heater turns off>
